Svendborg (by Tao & Ilsted) Bent Pot (D) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

To call this pipe a find would be a rather gross understatement. This pipe was crafted in the early 70's, a time of beginnings for Svendborg factory, and Ilsted and Tao were doing the carving. This was not (repeat not) a Svendborg factory pipe, but a one of a kind creation by Tao. The shaping, while displaying more than its share of fluidity, is also both comfortable and intuitive. Even the very shaping of the hand carved bit seems to complement the arc of the flame grain on the bowl. To add to the amazement, this pipe has crossed roughly three and a half decades without being smoked. Perhaps time to change that?--Bear Graves
